Englewood Cliffs is a calm suburban borough located along the Hudson River just three minutes from the George Washington Bridge and nine miles from Midtown Manhattan. Sylvan Avenue runs north-to-south through Englewood Cliffs in parallel to Palisades Interstate Parkway and the Hudson River. This broad avenue is lined with corporate headquarters and many fine restaurants; some great choices for dinner include Lefkes Estiatorio, which puts an artisanal contemporary twist on classic Greek cuisine. The frequently changing menu includes mouthwatering steaks, lamb chops, and souvlaki alongside fresh fish flown in daily and authentic Mediterranean salads and pasta dishes. Lefkes has a beautiful outdoor patio with a garden and fire pit.

The white tablecloth Grissini Restaurant imports premium meats and produce from around the world to craft delicious Italian dishes. Highlights of the menu include an extensive choice of homemade pasta, wood-fired pizzas, specialty steaks, lamb racks, and fresh seafood items.

Café Italiano is another upscale choice for white-tablecloth Italian dining housed within the summer home of 1920s and ‘30s NYC Mayor Jimmy Walker. This elegant space decorated with chandeliers provides the perfect setting to enjoy outstanding Italian cuisine paired with an extensive selection of Italian and Californian wines.

Also housed within one of Sylvan Avenue’s charming historic homes, Cliff’s Steakhouse offers sophisticated dining with delicious steaks, seafood, pasta dishes, and summer salads.

Englewood Cliffs is a major hub of media and business. The global headquarters of CNBC on Sylvan Avenue produces news programming, documentaries, and other shows that are broadcast around the world.

The verdant greenery along Englewood Cliff’s Hudson River waterfront provides plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation against a backdrop of stunning Manhattan views. Englewood Picnic Area runs for almost half a mile along the riverfront with gorgeous tree-shaded picnic lawns. At the northern end of the picnic area, Bloomer Beach has a boat launch on the Hudson. The picnic area also offers easy access to a riverside trail system and areas for fishing and crabbing.

Additional picnic and grill spaces can be found directly on the waterfront at Undercliff Beach. Rockefeller Lookout is another highlight along the riverfront with spectacular panoramic views taking in Yonkers, Manhattan, and part of Long Island Sound. Cliff-top Allison Park also boasts mesmerizing riverfront views. On Thursday evenings throughout the summer, the Annual Jazz Under the Stars Concert Series brings free weekly live jazz performances.
